It’s worth passing the first restaurants the top of the Schaffau lifts to find this one. About 10 mins on, this large restaurant still manages to make its customers feel welcome. We visited several times with different servers each time and always had good service. The portions are big and good value for money. We shared a Tiroler Mixed dumpling... fantastic! I 'm sure it 's a fine place. But what I got was not what I expected when I ordered, and when they removed my full plate, the normal, how was everything? was missing. Maybe I should have been more confident in relating my dismay. Tiny slivers of slimy cold ham wasn 't what I was expecting when I got the sausage salad . The waitress wasn 't unfriendly. One of my favourite lunchtime stops in the Wilder Kaiser. Great Traditional Tirolern food served by excellent staff.

"On our last day in Oberau we ventured up to this place, used to be easily accessible when the old T-bar lift was working, now it is quite a steep walk. The outside of the building does not convey the charm of the interior. Well worth the walk, but beware if the flag is not flying it may not be open."
