We hired Vista Linda for our wedding catering and they were amazing! We had a two meat taco bar and people loved having the option of making their own meal to their taste. Perfect for gluten free folks, vegetarians, or anyone with allergies! Plus, it was the most affordable option for any of the caterers we contacted! Absolutely recommend for your NW Montana wedding. What Bradley Dangerfield doesn't like about Vista Linda Mexican Catering:
How in the world does this place have over 4 stars! Cold chips and canned tomatoes in their tasteless salsa (tastes like a chuncky cold V8) yuk! Dry crunchy rice, flavorless canned beans, uncooked store bought tortillas. This place is an insult to Mexican food. The lack decor (feels like your eating at a 1970's school cafeteria). This place sits on a hill but the view is of the parking lot. Avoid this place. Drive a... View all feedback.
I will begin by stating that the service was great and we received our food quickly. However, I 'm still searching for decent Mexican food in Montana. This is not it. My husband had the taco and it was unexpectedly good. Not a premade shell out of a box, which is the usual in the northern Rockies. That was the end of the good part, however. The tortilla chips (advertised as freshly made) were thick and cold. The salsa was bland and I seriously doubt it was homemade. Perhaps they use canned tomatoes? If anyplace in the region offers beef as a meat choice, expect ground beef. So when their menu offered beef or ranchero beef, I was hopeful that the ranchero beef would be shredded. It was not. I 'm not sure what made it ranchero, but I guarantee you that if you go to any ranchero in Mexíco you will not get the ground beef that I received. It was essentially a Taco Bell enchirito. Olives and all. Smothered with sour cream. No sour cream is mentioned on the menu, if it had been I would have ordered it without. I 'd guess I 'm not the only person who doesn 't care to have my entire dinner covered in sour cream. I 'm glad I wasn 't hungry because I only ate two bites of it. As for the vista linda (translates to beautiful view in Spanish), as someone else stated, the view is of the parking lot. If they had changed the orientation of the building whenever it was built, it may have had a beautiful view of the lake, but they did not. The view is to the south, not east. The decor inside is straight out of 1970. Metal and vinyl chairs. Fake wood tables. If you want a nice dining experience and authentic Mexican food, I recommend you look elsewhere. If you, like my elderly parents, like ground beef tacos and burritos, and bland fare, this is your place.

I've had a couple of experiences with Vista Linda catering and restaurant. one was that a realtor's NMar meeting, the other was at a Mother's Day brunch that they had there at the restaurant. both times the food was very good especially the catering. I would say however that the Mother's Day brunch was quite over-priced for what it was. the staff were friendly and helpful and it's located in a cute little location. the owner Mark blasdel happens to be former Montana legislator that's heavily involved in politics and thus services many of the political events in the area with his catering
Great staff and great food! It is always great when they know you by name and keep the small town feel about the atmosphere!
