"We were trying to get into the cafe opposite as it had tables in the sun, and it wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance to the Almshouse is (10 yards down street). The outside seating doesn’t look as appealing as it’s neighbor but once inside it’s a different story. A really nice menu with an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches and great coffee, served by friendly staff. The Almshouse itself is really pretty inside, with a bookshop, and spiral staircase taking you to more seating. Next time we’re in Axbridge we’ll be heading straight there!"

"Dined here Sunday lunch just gone for my wife's have a beautiful private dinner room just off the resturant as the kids were with us and could just be kids and play, eat etc it was set up and decorated lovely. All the food...we had was fantastic, fresh, hot, well presented plentiful. Compliments to the chefs, the sharing platter roast mains is a brilliant idea. But they do offer other classics too. JAZZ her team were friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble they looked after us as well as a full resturant with smiles on their faces. We will defiantly when ever we can get another Sunday off together."
