I have travelled Australia and been to many Chinese restaurants but I must say main reef Chinese has the best sweet n sour pork I have ever tasted. Its soft yet crunchy. Yum View all feedback.
What quentin fischer doesn't like about The Main Reef:
118$ for a room for one night, even if it was one of the cheapest one in the city I dont think it's acceptable for an hotel not to have hot shower. There was dead insects in the water kettle. On the plus side, we could do laundries for free and a late check-in. Rooms: 1 Service: 3 Location: 3.
It is a pleasant place for a game of pool and a cold drink! Barmaid was friendly and good at her job.
Had a very good steak dinner nice an hot an the beer was cold skimpy was good looking had a great Time
Beautiful and friendly, this place is old school, cold beer, normal cal price, no oil painting, eating is great, rooms are clean and very comfortable.
The Main Reef is an old school pub with a first class menu. It's not a flashy, glamorous venue, but where it lacks in looks, the chef makes up for with great tasting meals. I haven't had a bad meal yet. It's reasonably priced as well. The staff are down to earth and happy to have a yarn. Well worth a visit for dinner and a beer. Vegetarian options: The chef can cook up whatever you order. Price per person: A$20–40
We tried the Main Reef Chinese for the first time, takeaway this time hence the atmosphere rating. The food was excellent, we got beef black bean, sweet sour pork, veg omelette and rice. Just like the radio advertisement that boasts the best Chinese in town (big call to make) but they’re bang on! Very tasty food, great service, threw in some prawn crackers. Love it. We will be back that’s for sure. Price per person: A$80–100
