"We booked with 24 hours notice for a Friday evening dinner. We were seated promptly near the service bar upstairs. This table was a little noisy and subject to high traffic staff, but understandable given our late booking. We were greeted by friendly wait staff who explained the menus very well to us. We chose the Express Banquet ($45 p/p) and "Express" it certainly was. Almost to a fault. Our table was full of banquet dishes within 10 minutes. The food was all well-presented and tasty. We feel the Express Banquet is very well-priced. The wine list is over-priced, but this is to be expected in inner city restaurants.The "vibe" of Chu The Fat is an interesting combination of industrial chic and trendy inner-city. Generally speaking, the service feel is a little rushed. We would prefer a calmer feel from the wait staff (though we understand that Friday and Saturday night services must be intense). Therein lies the skill, we suppose, though. We loved the food, the staff, and the vibe of the restaurant. We will be back, for sure."
