"This little café was such a pleasant surprise in the Cape. The non-describing name hides some really delicious homemade dishes with a Nepalese flair. We have the Momo, the Mediterranean Panini and the best homemade Chai Latte I had for a long time. The Panini had fresh grilled vegetables with thick feta and the Momo can only be described as taking tiny bites of delicious beef stew gifts. It comes with a very spicy sauce that my partner disappeared and I hardly used because my Irish stomach is incredibly lame when it comes to heat. The interior is small, but you can sit outside and enjoy people watching while you wait. I can't expect to come back to a few chai and try everything on the menu."

"Came here on a whim, happened to be the closest place when looking for breakfast on a road trip. Was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. I got the breakfast sandwich which was a bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon. It came with potatoes and oh my the potatoes were some of the best i’ve had with a breakfast meal. the sandwich itself was also amazing. "We like coming to Pate’s and almost always have a great experience. But this time, the food was good, but mostly unexceptional. Service was great. We were seated next to the bar, even though I had asked for a quiet table, so it was VERY noisy, which detracted from the overall. The restaurant was quite full, so we couldn’t really ask to be seated somewhere else. Since they are closing soon (for 3 months), that may have been a factor. We will return when they re-open, but this meal was a bit of a disappointment."
