we were part of a high-time celebration, the greeting we found when we arrived was warm and welcoming and first impressions was this place well kept and immaculately clean, even the gents toilet was immaculate and fresh. the main meal was a frying dinner min was bark and was cooked to perfection with generous amounts and more than enough fresh veg for all, I liked the fact that everyone table guests had their veg and... Okay, we didn't book. okay, they had a big watch in the course. okay, you actually offered a table almost in a door. you coworkers barely smiled (not at all). not even a hello, she looked at us as if. we crawl under a stone, no exaggeration. the energy could hardly offer us a table. on the watch and 'you can have that table when I have chairs'. please, will not come back, but this will never know. We go a few times a month, but last night a bit disappointing, belly of pork was a bit dry and crackling was soft , faggots were tasty but very dry , hardly any graving so I ask for a little bit more , but it didn’t arrive at the table , Overall not quite as good as it normally is , and there weren’t that many customers.
I was one of a large family group at a wake at the swan in tytherington earlier this month. I would like to thank the staff of The swan at the way they looked after us for the whole of the afternoon. The food and service were exemplary throughout. It could not have been an easy group for the staff to manage as some of the people just staid for a drink although the majority of us were there for a lunch. The staff were attentive and yet at the same time allowed us to have space to talk as a family group. I cannot recommend The Swan highly enough and would not hesitate to use them again. Thankyou to everyone at The Swan!
A friendly welcome to this pleasantly decorated pub/restaurant. We booked for lunch at 12.30 and there was hardly anyone there but in 30 minutes it almost filled up entirely. Food was excellent chicken and chorizo pie. And all at a reasonable cost. Well worth a visit.
Enjoyed a fantastic meal (ox cheek in stout with ox cheek croquet for me, belly pork with bubble and squeak for himself). Food was delightful, beer was great and the service was lovely. Really nice feel. Will go back. Also, lots of gluten free options available.
Surprises at the recent reviews as our experience of a cosy atmosphere and great home cooked fish and chips together with an exceptional pie was excellent. To top it off my bakewell pie was excellent . The ale could have tasted better for the great brands on offer but that’s being picky but mgmt may take a look . Recommended
