Aussie Steakhouse - South Grafton

I was a little skeptical ... $8 for a rump steak with Chips and salad. I was so surprised... the steak was thin but so tasty and tender. The chips were crisp and golden. The salad was fresh and had a great dressing. Asked for vinegar as a side .. no problem. Arrived at 6pm.. ordered served and done by 6.20pm. Staff are so friendly while remaining professional. The place started to fill up after 6.30pm but the atmosphere was great.

My friend and I had dinner of T bone and veg plus grilled chicken and veg. Well prepared meals. The place is popular with the locals which is always a good sign.

Probably the best steak on the mid north coast. Wow, was hanging for a steak and had the best rib fillet ever, cooked to perfection, the salad and chips were good as well. Other half has a big rump and vegies, again cooked to perfection....More

Tuesday night Snitty night always good. Reasonable prices & great service. Never a long wait quick service.

We have stopped here before for dinner on our way up North and it's been ok. This time was awful. I was recommended the Surf and Turf Porterhouse Steak, my husband had Snapper with avocado Salsa and my kids had the Steakhouse Salad. Guess you can't really stuff up a salad.... The snapper was unrecognizable and battered, never had a battered snapper, almost seems sacrilegious. Avocado salsa was tasteless. Surf and Turf came out almost raw, ordered medium rare, the sauce was curdled, I asked for a baked potato and coleslaw and was given brown coloured vegetables and soggy mash with a tiny cob of grey corn... When we mentioned how bad it was the waitress offered everything except for our money back... we had been on the road for 10 hours and certainly were not interested in more awful food. Whilst at this steakhouse other tables were complaining and sending their meals back. I asked her if she would have eaten what I was served and she said no, she wouldn't have. Enough said. McDonalds offers better, and cheaper, food than this place. Disgusting!
