We reserved a table for three for a pizza night. I really enjoy the beer here, it is served cold and fresh. The pizzas took 45 minutes to arrive, but that was not an issue as they were delicious. The staff is always friendly and polite (we have been here multiple times in the past two years). It was a lovely evening. View all feedback.
What Cookiescot doesn't like about Stokeley Cafe:
We visited for lunch and to shop in farm shop. Shared a crab sandwich which was lovely. Whilst eating I remembered that I had read that we could have 10% off our bill if we showed our keyfob for the holiday let we were staying in, we were told we were mistaken, on getting back to our apartment we were right, the staff need to be informed. Best full English I had long time. the peeled eggs were perfect, hash brown crispy, sausage divine. recommend the farmers b’fast as they get 2 sausages:!
Fantastic breakfast, and well stocked shop with quality items. Staff were busy but efficient and nice to deal with. A good spot.
We stopped here for tea and cake at the cafe. A very nice range of teas were available, and the cakes were good, although we'd have really liked to have had a Devon cream tea and were a little surprised that this wasn't available. Given the cold winter day, the large barn in which the café was housed could have been warmer, and a cold blast came in each time the sliding doors were opened. It lacked atmosphere, but would probably be lovely in the summer. Service was very good (and we apologise for forgetting to tip). We then called in to the farm shop which had a very good range of food, much of it local. If we had been going straight home, we would have bought meat and cheeses, but as we were away for a few days, that wasn't practical. I did but several greetings cards which were at regular prices and from ranges I hadn't seen before. I also bought some Braeburn apples which have proved quite disappointing, being almost mushy. I asked if they sold the Darjeeling tea from local supplier Miles which I had enjoyed in the adjoining cafe, as they had several other teas from the company on sale, but was told they didn't. There was no offer to pop next door and get a few boxes for me if available; perhaps they are different companies.
Poor service, ordered a coffee and half a cider, no sugar with coffee nearly finished the coffee no cider in site, had to ask for it again. Staff Walking around smiling but not busy. Ordered the ram roast which you would think should be quick and hot, wrong, slow and nearly cold and then had to remind staff it comes with mint sauce. So all in all nothing positive whatsoever in our visit and won't bother going back again.
Went for Sunday lunch, five of us in total. Had a very nice roast beef meal. Excellent service, and food. Returned for a cooked breakfast, and again for lunch later in the week. Once again, very nice food, and prompt service.
