We love this pub. Good wines very well kept real ales. Couple that to the historic cosy charm, good staff with a friendly welcome very good food. I had the lobster last time it was really good. If your taste is a cosy pub with loads of charm no muzak or fruit machines then you will love this pub as well. Along with the Red Lion Freshwater this rates as one of the best on the island. What User doesn't like about The New Inn:
This was my first visit to the restaurant since the new management took over. I ordered the fish and chips, but unfortunately, the fish was overcooked and the food took a while to be served. Additionally, we were surprised to be charged over £1.50 for just one piece of bread and butter. On a positive note, the wait staff were friendly and polite whenever we were able to get their attention. View all feedback.
Meals were excellent , staff very very friendly and welcoming . A good Dog friendly Pub
We visited this evening for a meal with our toddler. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We both had different burgers. They were filling so we had no room for dessert but wished we did. They had a high chair for our toddler and welcomed us all.
Called in on our boat for the 1st visit to this pub. Scampi very crunchy, little filling. Fish n chips my Dad said the best he can remember at a pub. Pulled pork burger just as expected and didn’t disappoint. Dad is 86 so wanted a small portion. Bar staff arranged a child’s size portion which was perfect for him and he was grateful for the flexibility. Very hospitable staff. Music playing started with Dolly Parton and ended with Nirvava. Perhaps a differing appetite was feeding the jukebox? Furnishings basic and not particularly homely in terms of seating, tables, decor but a pleasant place and friendly staff. I’d go back.
Lovely members of staff. The steak was cooked perfectly, highly recommend.
I have had two meals here and I must say I have not been disappointed. The fish and chips were lovely, thin crispy golden batter fish, light and fluffy chips and peas with a good dollop of tartare sauce. The Sunday roast is what I call a “good honest roast” no frills just home cooked. Not this fancy stack up veg and a spoonful of gravy. As for price both are value for money.
