Great lunch here last Weds. Took two visiting friends. Two of us had the sausage mash and veg with thick gravy. One had the fish and chips and the other a burger but a very nice burger with gorgeous chips. All cooked well altho my husband would have preferred petit pois to crushed peas. Service was good and they were very busy. View all feedback.
What Climber54671130197 doesn't like about Dinnington Docks:
We've been to The Docks several times but our last visit was disappointing. I ordered the Chichen breast risotto, I asked for some parmesan cheese as the risotto was not very creamy and was given grated cheddar! My dessert, sticky toffee pudding was delicious and good size portion. The young waitress was charming but there was no atmosphere in the pub. The lady serving drinks was not wecoming. We had previously visited in October but returned with friends to celebrate three of our birthdays, staying the night in our motorhomes. Matt is a fab host and the team he has there are second to none. The food was superb, served by friendly staff. This is in the perfect position, being roughly halfway between London and the South West, being a matter of minutes from the A303 Ilminster by-pass, to take a short break from the journey (or perhaps a longer one
AMAZING roast dinner. So delicious and great portions. My daughter had the cheese and bacon burger which was also really tasty. It was so good we all had deserts which were also fantastic. My daughters sticky toffee pudding portion was huge and very tasty
I stopped by for lunch last Saturday after not visiting for a few years. My husband enjoyed a delicious home cooked ham, egg, and chips, while I had fish and chips. My meal came with what appeared to be a homemade tartare sauce, and the crushed peas (which I usually find tasteless) were surprisingly tasty. The chips were also excellent. We were served quickly by a friendly woman who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be coming back.
This restaurant is a charming and welcoming spot that feels like a step back in time. It seems to appear out of nowhere along a secluded, winding road. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. I would definitely recommend it.
Left with mixed feelings about our evening out. The positives were that the chef took a lot of trouble to make a lovely Waldorf salad for one of our group who is vegetarian and gluten free. The mushroom dish was also very good and the chips were great. The fish and chips were disappointing as the amount of actual fish under the batter was minuscule. Our order was mixed up so we were initially presented with venison burgers instead of the vegetarian burgers we had ordered. Also the fish and chips were forgotten and we had to ask what had happened to that order. The young waitress was very attentive, polite and helpful however the lady in charge was not particularly friendly or welcoming. So overall rather a mixed experience a shame because most of food was nice.
