This place is fantastic! We came with a party between 13-15 people on a Saturday evening without previous reservations, less than an hour before closing. They expected them to be turned away (and rightly), they agreed to put us outside the different tables and couches. The food was delicious and prompt, and the drinks were impeccable. Even better was the service, and Wanda, our server and the various runners who brou... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Leadmine Whiskey And Kitchen:
The vibe of this place is pretty cool. Sadly our burgers were half cooked and were more then just ?rare?. When we showed staff she said something along the lines of ?well this is the end of the night?. Not acceptable. Showing the cook at the very least would have been the right thing to do. As someone who?s worked in food service for many years? there are better ways to rectify the situation. After all the money we s... View all feedback.
You have a very cool menu and the drinks are some of the best in the area. I never had anything I didn't like here. They are very busy and the indoor kitchen is very small, so there can be a waiting time. I find the back dining area missing. On one side there are two high-tops and the other is distributed like 3 tiny tables. The mood is missing and needs some attention. If you can sit outside or in the bar where I would go.
The most delicious food and drinks we had in Southern Pines! I first tried the honeymoon Mojito, who was lovely! Hubby had the classic old fashion! Yum! We tried some appetizers, the Queso, the duck wings and the dumplings. The food was phenomenal and our bartender/mixologist, Cole has excellent skills and a great personality! We could talk to the staff all day!
The bone marrow tacos were absolutely legit. I definitely come back to my next trip to the city.
The drinks and apps (pho dumplings and Brussel sprouts were good. We received our food in shifts- all of the food didn?t come out at once. The main courses were kind of underwhelming. We had both types of bao buns (The pork belly seemed tired and could have used a sauce. , the marrow tacos (They were so oily that they dripped all over the table and us. , and the truffle fries (Probably the best ?main? that came out, but the dipping sauce is mayo, so it?s very heavy. . While we were eating our truffle fries, a waitress (not ours asked if she could clear some plates out of the way. Instead of taking the dirty empty plates, she took our half eaten truffle fries off our table and left. It was odd? Not worth a complaint, but definitely meant we wouldn?t be waiting to get another drink. I wouldn?t say that it was a bad experience, but it wasn?t exactly what we had expected. I wouldn?t plan on eating dinner there- it seems more of a ?grab drinks and eat a snack? place.
Had an early dinner here and I never get tired of this place! Not pictured are the wonderfully delicious drinks we enjoyed with dumplings, bao buns, and crispy delicious Brussels sprouts. Just a great experience every time.
