Great little pub. I used to drink there 50 years ago when the interior comprised 5 or 6 smal rooms that seated 8 people. Great atmosphere, great beer,including a few cask ale pumps, and friendly and efficient staff View all feedback.

What Cheekypheasant doesn't like about The Market Tavern:
Called last Saturday night for a few with wife. I like cask ale and this is usually reliable. Not this time, only one cask out of 3 pumps and not to my taste, not right for a Saturday night. Carried on with Newcastle Brown and raised a glass to Dad. Good service clean areas and pleasant staff, I will not give up on here yet View all feedback.

"A pleasant culinary experience. good staff who liked to talk about the menu. I ordered a butter chicken, that was definitely not a butter chicken. I have eaten in many major restaurants in the world and that was a mistake in my understanding....Very fiery, no butter or cream aromen and the color was dark brown. No matter, don't worry, I enjoyed eating because it was fresh and served with very good naan brot. the quality is at good pub level and no longer. knowing about the Indian flavor is normal and under what I experienced in Britain would go back because eating is fresh and well cooked, but not dramatize the true potential of Indian cuisine."
