"The hot chocolates are great here! the service is good and another great part. the toilets are on the same stage so that they do not have to go up or down stairs when they are in their heavy ski boots! we had the bratwurst Tyrolean...Gröstl, who was beautiful! very full. the highlight were the Austrian tiroler kartoffel dumplings (I cannot remember the names, but they are the middle dish included in the photo) they were really good!"

I had heard from Cafe 172 since my arrival after canned by many residents of the region. They all talked about big cafe 172 was. I must finally visit this amazing café on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. It definitely lived up to my expectations and beyond. I immediately felt very welcome to all staff. I found the perfect table and my order didn't come long after sitting. The cappuccino I ordered tasted delicious and fresh. To add my cappuccino, I ordered a piece of chocolate cake. The cake was over par!!! It was beyond Awesome! In any case, I returned to the time to fresh cakes I had experienced in Ireland and the United States of America. The cafe 172 is a must for your stay in the beautiful village of kössen. Very hip and cool atmosphere inside! It should be that I originally lived in Dublin, Ireland, in the United States for over thirty years and traveled around the world with the United States Marine Corps. I definitely know a Great Cafe from all my life experiences and travels. I definitely recommend checking this amazing cafe centrally located down town load the staff is very friendly and professional! Amazing customer service! You will definitely not be disappointed about your visit to Cafe 172 in the village of Kössen, Austria. I will definitely return to Cafe 172 in the near future! This cafe offers five stars more! "What a surprise to find Nini cooking up authentic Thai in the middle of the snow covered Alps..Nini is a young Thai girl married to an Austrian with a new-born child, working hard in this modest eatery. Her German is excellent and her English is good. There are about 4 seats, so it is best treated as a take-away. However I found myself having a few Singha beers (sold there) as I watched Nini and her friend prepare my food from fresh. This took about 10 minutes.The food is tasty and I found myself coming back again during one week's skiing in St. Johann. This food is great value and a good alternative to traditional Austrian dishes which are the norm here.As will0w19 points out; there is also a good restaurant next door. It is different enough from Nini's to give it a go and the food is also of good quality. A good alternative if you cannot sample Nini's delights.Lucky St. Johann!"
