What User likes about Golden Phoenix Restaurant:
This chinese restaurant was so very very good. The incredible number of items on the buffet were amazing. Not only many chinese food selections but western food - a big roast of beef was available for those who wanted it. Also lots of options to put in a salad and the desserts.... many choices here too. And the service was very good and we did not have to wait for a table. It is a very very big restaurant broken into... View all feedback.

What User doesn't like about Golden Phoenix Restaurant:
Decided on buffet for a quick bite. Was amazed at the amount of people packed into this restaurant. Food was pedestrian at best. Not much taste at all. Chicken balls, which is usually the staple of NL Chinese food were soggy and doughy. Seemed to cater to the crowd who like quantity, not quality. I would not recommend this place. "A nice location for a coffee break after hiking up or down Signal Hill, the historic site in St. John's, Newfoundland. Alot of speciality coffee choices with cookies, salads. Love the paintings and canvas prints on the walls. I think they are on consignments. Great for the artists and the patronage enjoying a coffee break.. Live music jamming sessions in the evening with packed crowd. Musicians can register thru their sign up sheets and play for 15 minutes.. A very cosy friendly small cafe for locals and also visitors to and from Signal Hill area. Will drop back to have coffee often for sure."

"We had a very long wait for our dinner which was a simple salad and spaghetti with meat balls. The chef was cooking one meal at a time and even for a small place it took a while. The spaghetti was good, didn't care for the balls. Our server was great and the atmosphere fine. I would go back to try the espresso side of things."
