Beautiful place. The restaurant Decor is very old Italian. The food is excellent. The only issue I had is the risotto was just a little too Al Dente for me. Actually had a crunch in the center like it wasn't quite done. Carpaccio was outstanding and the pappardelle pasta with Bolognese was equally excellent. View all feedback.
What KenC doesn't like about Dominic's On The Hill:
I made a reservation for 8:15, it was the earliest available. We arrived on time and ordered a drink. The waiter came back at 8:25 and said the kitchen was closing at 9:00 and if we wanted to eat we needed to order. The food was good but for the price they shouldn’t rush. Service was bad. I’ll be hard pressed to return. View all feedback.
We usually go to Dominic's to celebrate personal anniversary. The ambience is always great, cozy and the food always tastes good. One of the good high-end restaurants I was in Missouri.
What a perfect evening to celebrate 52 years of marriage with my best friend!! Great dinner and most excellent martinis to start the evening!! Our waiter was most attentive and knowledgeable in describing choices on menu. Definitely a special place for special celebrations!! We will be back!!!
Not super thrilled with our first experience at Dominic?s. Bartender was rude when I walked in and asked if this was the front entrance as there is no waiting room, no sign that says wait to be seated, no host or hostess, no indications that we actually entered the right door. Just felt awkward and had to stand around for a minute waiting to be seated. Food was good but not great. Lobster was seared a bit much and had some very hard chewy bits. Again, it was good but nothing I?d rave about. Honestly thought the sauce on the Lobster Al Gusta $55) was rather bland. Had to wait 10+ minutes for our check after having our final dishes taken. My girlfriend liked her pasta but agreed that the overall experience was not worth the money. You can get the same quality food at much cheaper restaurants with better service. Personally don?t plan on returning and would rather go to Gitto?s or Tony?s if I?m spending $30+ a plate.
I'm from Chicago, this restaurant was recommended by a friend who regularly travels to St. Louis. The atmosphere was charming for a formal restaurant, the lighting was very low and the lighting stayed changing during our meal. I didn't know there was a dress code while my wife and I were well dressed my two teenage sons wore dress shorts and shirts that the hostess didn't approve and had a chip on her shoulder when we came in. The food was nothing special. The service we received from the waiters and bus boys was excellent!!!! I ordered an old fashion as my appetizer drink and the Bourbon was great, they garned it with a Maraschino cherry that I would have a kids cocktail or top an ice cream on Sunday, I expected a more gourmet dinner with my for a fine Bourbon cocktail
What a wonderful dinner!! Dominic personally came to our table several times to make sure that all?s food was perfect Joe was great!! We came from Nashville on a business trip and stayed an extra night just to get to this restaurant.
