I am giving this restaurant 5 stars without hesitation. The Freeman roll was exceptional and even arrived promptly, despite being slightly delayed by 10 minutes or so. While the soy sauce could have had a bit more flavor for my personal taste, the presentation, taste, and quality of the food all deserve a perfect score. Idk how this place has good reviews maybe they haven’t experience good sushi and bowls. I should have known walking up to the place but gave it a shot. Literally the worst most pathetic bowl I’ve ever had and I order bowls weekly not to mention I had a hair in it so threw it away. There wasn’t anything to it and NOTHING was fresh about this. Save yourself the money and drive a mile further. View all feedback.
We were in the area for my daughter's soccer and felt like sushi. Ikigai had such great reviews so we tried it. Happy we did fast, fresh, fabulous bowl at a fantastic price of $10. Not sure the perspective of the picture really shows how much food was in the bowl. It was a huge bowl.

For those in search of high-quality sushi, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
This was my first time at this restaurant. I ordered a Phoenix Roll, a Spicy Scallop roll, conch sashimi, salmon sashimi, and an Eel rice bowl. The total was $40 and the food arrived in 20 minutes. I am very particular about the quality of sushi, and this place definitely exceeded my expectations. The Phoenix roll was amazing, the Salmon sashimi was perfectly portioned and delicious. The Spicy Scallop roll lacked a bit of flavor, but it was still good. The conch sashimi was fresh and sweet. I haven't tried the Eel rice bowl yet, but it looks great. The staff on the phone was easy and polite. When I arrived, the employees seemed a bit awkward and quiet, but that's okay because I am too! I would definitely recommend this place and will be back again.
This is definitely the best sushi restaurant in St. Petersburg. Even though it may be a bit of a drive for those living on the north side, it is definitely worth it.
The staff at this restaurant is friendly and polite. I ordered the rainbow roll, which was delicious. I also appreciated being able to watch the chefs making the rolls fresh.
