Nice Diner for a quick bite. It reminds me of my childhood. They have all the classic foods and drinks. My favorite is the breakfast. Eggs bacon and grits. The food was delicious and it was ready fast. View all feedback.
What Lee Burns doesn't like about Avalon Diner:
As a senior citizen, I have never encountered such rude wait staff as I did this morning. Two of the waitresses were loudly greeting incoming customers at a table nearby, preventing my friend and me from having a conversation. The breakfast pancakes are delicious and fluffy, while the sausage patties are tender and tasty. My only complaint is with the cashier, whose name on the receipt is listed as GOOD. She did not thank me for my money or my business, and simply walked off towards the kitchen without saying anything after taking my payment.

Two of the waitresses were loudly greeting incoming customers at a table nearby, preventing my friend and me from having a conversation. When I mentioned that it was too loud, one of the waitresses took offense and things went downhill from there. Another waitress came over with attitude to ask if everything was alright, and when we said it wasn't, she lectured us about the restaurant not being a church and lacking courtesy for other diners. When we left, I expressed to the cashier that it had been a very unpleasant experience, but she responded sullenly, accusing us of telling people to shut up when all we wanted was for them to be quieter. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.
I am a very senior citizen and have never had as rude a wait staff as I had this morning. Two of the waitstaff apparently knew incoming customers at their table. We were 2 tables away and the greeting which went on for quite a few minutes was so loud my friend and I could not talk to each other. When one of the waitresses went by I mentioned that it was a bit loud. She took offense and it went down hill from there. The other waitress came over and asked with everything was OK.(and with some attitude) We said no it wasn't at which point she lectured us about this being a restaurant and not a church. Where was the courtesy for the other diners. When we left, I told the girl at the check out that it had been a most unpleasant experience. She was very sullen and said we shouldn't tell people to shut up. What? We just wanted them to tone it down a bit. This was our first and last time at this restaurant.
Great food! This chicken fried steak omelette was one of the best I have ever had! Creamy melt in your mouth perfectly cooked steak and eggs.
