Surprised at some of the bad reviews on here. We called in for some lunch and had a really good experience. Friendly staff, quick service and lovely food. Will definitely be back. I had the hallumi kebab and the missus had the chicken. Both were delicious. View all feedback.
What 494carmelor doesn't like about The Greyhound Inn Pub:
Well after giving up on getting a meal without having to complain about it we decided to stop going so after a year or probably more we decided to try again wish we hadn't bothered the carvery meals were ok it was the one's of the menu that were awful and no-one asked how our meals were I suppose I could have put a complaint in but what's the point we just won't go back shame really it used to be a great place. Four of us went to this restaurant and tried the small carvery selection, which included a choice of a soup starter or sponge pudding with custard for £8.95. The carvery offered 4 meats to choose from, and the small portion included a couple of slices of meat, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, and unlimited vegetables. The gravy was delicious, and the pudding was also very tasty. The price was unbeatable and the food was lovely. The restaurant was beautiful, the seating was comfortable, and the toilets were spotless. There was plenty of car parking available and the staff were really great. Overall, we had a fantastic lunch experience.
I dined at this restaurant for dinner on Thursday and again for lunch on Sunday. From the outside, the building doesn't look like much, located on a main road heading west from Ashby. However, there is a large carpark at the back and it was busy both times I visited. I had made a reservation over the phone for Thursday's dinner, but there was no mention of choosing between sitting in the restaurant or bar. We were greeted by a miserable woman who seated us at a table in the bar, next to a busy walkway for the staff. After requesting to be moved, we were seated at an empty table in the restaurant, much to the greeter's dismay. Despite this, we were pleased with our meals. The menu offered a variety of options to satisfy all tastes, and the food was excellent. Service was polite, though a bit slow due to the full house. My picky partner was impressed with the food, so we decided to book again for Easter Sunday. We had an early booking to accommodate our schedule, and once again the food was terrific. The carvery had a good selection and all the sides were well cooked and plentiful. The table service was much better this time, perhaps because the waiter recognized us from our previous visit. The desserts were also good, though a bit too sweet. My only suggestion would be to include some less-sweet options on the menu.

Carvery at $14.00 was disappointing. The potatoes were undercooked and the rest of the vegetables were cold. I had to use the gravy to warm up my meal, which wasn't ideal. The quality of the food has declined and it is now more expensive. It used to be good, but now it is not worth the price.
Arrived and a very nice gentleman showed my friend and I to table 44 no problem all was going well when a customer arrived with a dog she looked at our table and said we booked that table I wanted it because I brought my dog she then went on to keep saying loudly that she wasn't happy and she was going to complain she made us feel very uncomfortable..when our food arrived we mentioned it to the lady but there was nothing else she could do...any way about the food it was excellent we had pizza.the staff were very good especially the man that greeted us and took us to our table...the greyhound you should be proud of all staff..didn't give full marks due to a very rude lady making our us feel uncomfortable..
