"Very unassuming from the outside, but what a delight! The food is absolutely delicious, I had the special on the night which was a cheddar melt steak, meat was soft, tasty and prepared perfectly. The sauce was just to die for.. really. It came with a healthy helping of home cooked veg and chips. Service was good, I would give them 4.5 but rounded up instead of down because they don’t deserve 4), but would easily give 5 stars if atmosphere improved music, candles/better lighting etc)"

"René is an amazing host who made sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be. We love the Anchorage River House and the best part is the dogs, Rudi and Grace who greeted us every morning and chilled on the verandah every evening. The view of the river from the bed was the most spectacular way to wake up, something we would definitely go back for again and again!"
