The short walk down the hill from the truck stop is definitely worth it. I will make sure to stop at this restaurant every time I come this way. The beans were some of the best I've ever had, and the carne asada steak had such an amazing flavor that I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beans were the highlight of my meal. What User doesn't like about Nelly's Mexican:
I am hesitant to write a negative review, but this restaurant was truly the worst I have been to in a long time. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with some pico de gallo mixed in. My camarones al mojo de ajo was just six shrimp with a bit of garlic, tomato sauce, and a few mushrooms. The restaurant appears to have been a Chinese restaurant in the past. The salsa was good. The service was good. The food was good. We went in for lunch and it was pricey it was 19$ a piece. We thought we ordered off the lunch menu. Plus a 10$ tip.
