Great food. Well prepared with excellent presentation. First course (Appetizers) a bit overpriced. Limited choices (4) on main courses. Service was prompt but server was not confident or engaging. Spacious dining area on front porch. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Hichborn:
wonderful creative contributions and beautiful presentation and restaurant decoration. but it wasn't about the noise. it made it difficult to enjoy an otherwise delicious dinner. View all feedback.
Food is outstanding! Service was excellent, enjoyed the atmosphere. Proprietor made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!
We've been regular visitors at The Hichborn since it opened last year, but wanted to give Kirk and Charlie time to settle in before writing a review. This Saturday it all came together for us. A wonderful meal, beautifully presented and graciously served. The kale salad, butternut squash soup, a sublime hake and meyer lemon tart were all perfectly prepared! The boys are among the best. Worth a trip!!
It was a real treat to go to the Hichborn. Such quality of dining experience is not common in our area of Maine. The pork chops (tender and juicy and thick) and the flourless chocolate cake were the standouts for me. Perfect balance between casual and fine dining. And, all the food is local, which supports Maine farmers and puts fresher food on the table.
One of the best meals I've had in a restaurant. Ever. Lovely building. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Excellent, excellent, excellent. A must if you live or visit the Midcoast/Downeast Maine. Food and service are wonderful, delicious with a commitment to local supplier and growers The restaurant is in an old home which has been renovated with love and an attention to details. Warm and inviting restaurant, the staff and owners made us feel very welcomed.
