While in Stratford upon Avon we went to the Riverside Cafe for a drink and cake. I remember coming here as a student before watching a play before the recent renovations. It was such a treat and high quality but now is very ordinary. So much more could be made of a cafe in this prime location! I felt very sorry for the overwhelmed member of staff today. There were trays of used crockery piled up indoors and outside. There was a queue for drinks and he was struggling to cope. We had tea and coffee. The Earl Grey tea brand has changed and was not good. We d noticed this at Susie's and at the Rooftop and thought it would improve. It hasn't.
