Upmarket Chinese restaurant in Empire Mall. Cantonese Cuisine a la Hongkong...the Charsiew Roast Meat and Roast Duck are superb examples of what the chef can come up with. View all feedback.
What Jane Kathiripillai doesn't like about Di Wei Chinese Cuisine:
Had the Peking Duck for dinner... It was just so so. The appetizer: duck skin should be crispier and fattier; pancakes were tough and a bit chewy; should have more ingredients inside the pancakes so they are more flavourful...it was like eating just the rolled pancake shells only. The fried rice: I would prefer the duck meat stir fried with some veggetables like Chinese broccoli (gai lan) or choy sum; instead, it was... View all feedback.
When it comes to Chinese cuisine, these are my top three favorite restaurants. The taste, aroma, and presentation are excellent but it does come with a higher price tag. The service was average, nothing out of the ordinary, not rude but not overly enthusiastic either. We arrived late at night and they waited for us, which made me happy. I wish they would do more promotion as I love their dishes.
The ambiance is beautiful and highly recommended. The Hokkien noodle mee hoon was one of the best dishes I've tried, especially with the homemade chili paste. The healthy brown rice fried rice, cooked with olive oil, was also commendable (only available by special order). You won't go back to regular yong zhau fried rice after tasting this. The steamed tuna was fresh, straight from the tank. The service was great as well. I will definitely return for dim sum.
When they come to the wee, the peking duck is one. it is crispy and delicate inside. served with a great sauce and wraps.
Service is good . Food so far also good. But tried their dim sum , I won't want to eat here .but their steamed pear desert was too overly sweet
Well lit clean, looks cozy. Food served were just an average of an upmarket restaurant nothing to really shout about. Service need to improve ... small detail like our teapot went for hot water refill never came back, tea spilled while pouring (the waiter tried his best to serve). Presentation of the Yee Sang were dull, all brown salmon and the colourful bits were hidden in the middle. Commendable: roasted pork salted egg prawn balls
