This place is simply outstanding in every way. The coffee is amazing, the service excellent, and the food is simply delicious. Best brunch had for years. The panko eggs and potato cakes dish was exquisite, and the Green thingo with smoked salmon on the side was the same. Just maybe a wee splash of crushed nuts in the spicy spinach would have added some texture, but that's a construct... View all feedback.
What Rémy Fournier doesn't like about Floyd's:
We came here during lunch time. Not so busy for Wednesday afternoon.
We had:
Panko crumbed
Pulled pork belly
Seared avocado and bacon stack
All eggs on the plates were cooked to perfection..love all of them.
The down side is pulled pork belly is lack of seasoning..missing something????
And bacon is a bit hard to chew
Overall experiece nice except for the pulled pork belly.
I have dined here at least 4 times and on each occasion I left disappointed by the food, the service and the venue. I will not be returning.
Great service, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I had the Green Shashukha, the dish was ok but could be improved a lot. The coffee was nice. I'm surprised the council allows the outside tables so close to the road without some type of bollard setup or small barrier sign / fence in place. the top table you are literally sitting at the edge of the lights so you cop a lot of fumes when the cars take off. at one stage a truck went past and clipped the top of the umbrella which could have been quite a serious incident if it clung to the truck and was dragged through the top table. you can see the base of the umbrella is broken suggesting it has happened before. I would suggest having something like they do in Melbourne with a plastic awning / enclosure that can be modified to suit the weather coupled with a barrier along the edge of the road and which forms the outer wall of the enclosure. This would improve safety, reduce fumes and offer sun and rain protection and also potentially enclosed outside heating in winter. pedestrians would still be able to walk through it.

This is my second time brunching in Floyds and while I love the style of this cafe, the food falls slightly short on some aspects. I had the seared avocado and bacon stack which was nice but only had the tiniest amount of avocado. The sweet potato crisps on top were burnt to a crisp and couldn't be eaten unfortunately. My boyfriend had the panko crumbed poached eggs which he enjoyed but again said they weren't as amazing as they sounded on the menu. Coffee is good here however and we also treated ourselves to a white chocolate and strawberry muffin which was delectable and definitely the winner of the meal..(no photo as it was scoffed down too quickly!)
