What SteveH likes about 221b:
A bit less pretentious and showy than places in the square but good basic fare at reasonable prices. Great coffee. Bacon roll is colossal. Fab doughnuts. Can't really understand the reviews that say the staff are poorly trained or unfriendly. They aren't gushy or have-a-nice-day ish but I go in regularly and find them welcoming and helpful. Very good WiFi as well. View all feedback. What LaViaBelle doesn't like about 221b:
Hmm mixed views re this place. Stopped in here to have coffee and cakes recently and none of us thought much of our cakes at all. We all had different ones from muffins, eclairs etc. yesterday we also purchased bread to take home and that was really lovely, so that gets a thumbs up. View all feedback.

Despite some service issues, the cafe boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Customers have raved about the delicious coffee, mouth-watering cakes, and pastries. One reviewer noted that the breakfast they had was incredible, consisting of perfectly poached eggs on fresh bread. With both indoor and outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, and friendly staff, this charming cafe is a great stop for a relaxing afternoon tea or a quick coffee.
