This is a lovely old world Italian restaurant that reminds of another time. It was a snowy day and the restaurant wasn't crowded for lunch, but the food was great. The bread was fresh and delicious. The homemade minestrone was light and fragrant. The shrimp were excellent. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and our waiter, on his own initiative, brought a delicious dessert with a message in chocolate. We will come back... View all feedback.
What Dayton Streich doesn't like about Veritas Steak & Seafood:
Their Chilean sea bass special dish is salty. Crab cake is a good side. Cream brûlée’s chocolate cake are decent. Atmosphere is nice. The staffs are friendly although some can’t understand or speak English. They’re trying to be helpful but a little rough like reaching across your face to clear out dishes, and drop the plates quickly and walk away real fast. And you have to look for them. We chose this restaurant for our Valentine's Day 2020 celebration. On arrival, the hostess was MIA for at least 5 minutes. When she arrived, she asked if we had a reservation. I answered and gave her my name. Without checking my reservation request for a particular table through the window on your computer, she took us to a random table in the middle of the restaurant. When we brought the table request to their attention and pointed to the reserved table through the window, she said that the table was reserved and went away and left us standing in the middle of the restaurant while she went back to the front to check her computer. After waiting there for a few minutes, a casually dressed gentleman, whom I thought was the restaurant manager, came and put us through the window at the reserved table. As soon as we sat there, the service was a little slow, but good. The food and wine was also good. This experience marked my second visit to Veritas Steak Seafood. But it was a first experience for my husband. I don't know if he'll ever visit again.
It's just terrible... forever, even with no one. Always get to the waiter (but he was nice). 6 items on menu overall. When I asked what happened to the menu, I was told that they were closing all night.... I don't understand why. Steak was flat raw with burned charcoal lines, it was purple inside. Only all in all sad experiences
We were disappointed with the shortened menu. It has distracted from the overall experience and left us the feeling that we could have been better with another restaraunt.
The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not seem to acknowledge our reservation. Upon arrival, we had to wait in line just like any other patrons.
I chose Veritas because Perry’s has a set menu for Valentine’s Day and Veritas said they did not. Upon seating I was given a limited set menu, contrary to my expectations. The quality of the steak was a step below Saltgrass and for $49 I was extremely disappointed. The steak was accompanied by a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. They made bank and I made a mistake going there, I will not ever return. Service was below par, very slow and forgot us a few times.
