"We went on Wednesday, so the visitor center was closed. But also on days when the center is closed, there is much to see to make a visit worth. Park in the game at the bottom of the hill and go to the lighthouse. There are outdoor plaques to tell you about the lighthouse and the story. The view is amazing and there are many and many seabirds to see. Enjoy!"

"We eat here often. eat is excellent, many possibilities. the lunch menu has sandwiches and toasties, more filled like fish chips, cullen skink and the fantastic macaroni cheese. the evening meal times are great to order meals, e.g. steak are great. the cook is an adventurous guy, and in the rule adds in a dish from other countries. He pulls this out without problems when any of these dishes is gone, then they give them a try, we were never disappointed by the food we were served. for dessert I recommend the cheesecake. absolutely wonderful. the service is also very good, staff are very efficient, helpful and friendly."

"Having spent a week on Unst we used Spiggie Hotel for our last few nights on Shetland. Spiggie House occupies a very nice position with views across Spiggie Loch and easy walking distance to Spiggie Beach and the Loch side. We were made very welcome at the property and our room had excellent views. The room was clean and tidy with a large en suite. Evening meals were served in the restaurant. There is also a small separate bar should you just wish to sit and have a drink, or two! We found the food in the restaurant was excellent with a varied menu on the nights we stayed. We found Spiggie House a good base from which to explore St Ninians Isle and that part of the Shetland coastline. Spiggie Hotel is only about 25 minutes from the airport. At the time of our stay the owner advised us that he had accepted an offer for the sale of Spiggie House so there may be changes on the way at Spiggie House Hotel."
