Hyttstugan - Sundborn

I always visit Sundborn a few times a year because We have a family grave in the church. I always have lunch or coffee at Hyttstugan. This is a very nice place close to Carl Larsson museum. The food is good and it is a very relaxed place where you can sit a enjoy the beautiful countryside. The prices are moderate and service 1st class

This is convenient to the Larsson House but parking is a big issue. The restaurant gets a lot of the tour groups going to the house. There is not a lot of menu choice. Buffet is 195K $24), and sandwiches are 65K $8). Cafeteria style. This is one of only a couple places in town. Other choices are in Falun 5-6 miles away. With so many visitors from abroad we hoped that the culinary nation Sweden showed itself from its best side.Nope, todays offer an abundant but standard buffet most to saturate.Neither was the Coffee and pastry not what we dreamed of.

We had visited Carl Larsson's home and felt the need to eat something before our journey back home. We popped into Hyttstugen which is just beside the house Staff were very friendly and made us some lovely open sandwiches on the spot even though it was nearly closing time. This is a very good size restaurant. I would say it caters mostly for the coach tours visiting the artists house. Prices are reasonable.

This restaurant is situated next door to the Carl Larsson house. It offers a good and tasty selection of warm and cold dishes. The place has a relaxed atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. There is also sufficient choice for young children.
