What Eugene Smitham doesn't like about Artificer Specialty Coffee Bar & Roastery:
brilliant community café of real coffee aficionados. simple, straight good beans and brew, without nonsense. they say G’day the youngs behind the theke, they are all super friendly View all feedback.
Ranked so highly on its excellent coffee. This is a store selling coffee only. When you only sell coffee, it's gotta be pretty ****** good. And good it is. Clean, minimalist furniture and benches outside. Lovely Lovely man at the counter ???? and he offered to bring the coffee to my table outside. It was a superb tasting coffee (I only had one sugar and I normally have two heaped teaspoons!). Beautiful latte art. They don't serve food, which, again - you go here for the coffee. aroundtheclockfoodie.com
They are doing what they do best. When you enter in, you know they will give you really good coffee. Love their concept too! Of course my Espresso was nice ????
Artificier specialises in coffee. As in, it's what they do, and they do it well. So if you're looking for watery milk, over extracted beans, bad roasting, giant breakfasts, flavoured syrups, opening hours the same as starbucks, free wifi or a free bathroom, then you'll probably want to go to another cafe. However, if you're after a simple atmosphere where you can enjoy coffee roasted and brewed by some of the best award-winning baristas in Sydney, along with well-texturised and temperature-perfect milk, then this is your place.

Solid coffee shop that crafts its one product very well. Their milk coffees are delicious but I would suggest something black like a batch brew, not only for a taste of something more special in surry hills, but also for the delightful handmade ceramics the coffee is presented in (made in collaboration with a Sydney-based Japanese potter). The shop has a very simple and minimalist aesthetic that reminds me of little coffee joints in Omotesando, Shibuya, and Kyoto. I do wish Artificer--like so many other coffee shops in Sydney--was open late.
