What Graham Thomas doesn't like about The Malthouse:
Considering where this is and who it is for. Its just rubbish. No staff. It could be so much better. Its got some kind of woerd ownership going on. After paying I noticed my bill was split into different vendors depending on the drink. Someone thought they could save a quid. It would be nice to grab a bit to eat before a show. But no chef is available. Poor Price per person: £20–30 View all feedback.
Staff are nice, but not good enough, bar needs updating, garden is shocking, rotten furniture, lights not working, rubbish and leaves everywhere, could do with a good power washing, hope to get a reply! Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
Over priced alcohol in my opinion and the staff didn't seem very up beat and were just sort of ignoring us for the evening Service: Dine in Meal type: Other
Taking into account the location and intended audience, this place is quite disappointing. There was hardly any staff available, which really detracts from the experience. It has a strange ownership situation that doesn’t seem to work well. After paying, I noticed my bill was itemized under different vendors for each drink, which seemed like an attempt to save a little money. It would be great to grab a bite before a show, but unfortunately, no chef was available. Overall, the experience doesn't justify the price of £20-30 per person.

I attended a Christmas play at the Malthouse Bar a couple of weeks ago, and I must say, it's a delightful venue.
