My wife and I met or friends here a couple of weeks ago we wanted somewhere halfway between Gloucester where we live and Basingstoke were they live, I looked at alot of pubs off junction 15 of the M4 and the Village Inn seemed to tick all the boxes, it did not disapoint, lovely traditional village pub nice warm welcome from the landlady and her barmaid followed by an excellent lunch. I’m so sorry to write this I have been to this place many times Had a fantastic time Not this time We were showed to our table by a waitress carrying a dog under her arm to quieten him We ordered drinks which were weak Roast dinner was cold Meat thin over cooked Veg frozen Offered free desert Crumble topping was raw ! Thanks to the Village Inn for hosting our meal after our local hash. Very good service and everyone was pleased with the food provided and the atmosphere.
