What Viva Paucek doesn't like about City Lights Cafe:
This is one of the few places in DT Sylva to get a quick coffee and breakfast in the morning, so I give it props for that. The coffee was very decent, they have TONS of flavor options to choose from. I opted for the seasonal snickerdoodle but honestly I couldn't taste any flavors besides oat milk. Because it is covid, we just ordered online and sat outside, then the barista we were there. much bigger than it looks from outside. I got the tempo sandwich and subbed vegan cheese (which was kind of sweet, but it was still good and I was happy to have a nicely balanced option to breakfast), my partner (non-Veg) got the thun-fish melt and said it was good. the server was very nice and brought us water and tasty for our dogs. a good breakfast option before meeting some of the migratings.
I love city lights! they are the way to come for college kids here and also for tourist coming a weekend. her coffee selection is amazing and they offer shed, mandling and soy milk options. my favorite food from here are her pasta salad and her vegan brekkie! They can ask for vegan cheese on her pasta salad instead of her traditional parmesan cheese that is really great. I had recently her vegan brekkie and it was that life change because it was the first time that I had tried tempo and now I was hacked. they really take COVID-19 seriously so they emphasize, take out, and their service is still great. they can order online and their order is ready in 15 minutes, how long it takes me to get there. the staff are always super friendly and willing to help them.

I come here several times when we are in sylva! almost everything can be veganized and they now have amazing homemade vegan cashew cheese. highly recommended
Nice place. Dog friendly on patio (they have frozen pup cups with yogurt also). Tempeh and cashew cheese substitutes. Nice to have options in a small mountain town.
