Contribute FeedbackKitty Hoynes in Syracuse was a mixed experience for diners. While some praised the delicious food and excellent service, others were disappointed by poor service and unpleasant experiences with the staff. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and impressive menu, including dishes like Irish meatloaf and famous corned beef fritters, were highlights for many customers. Despite some inconsistencies, Kitty Hoynes remains a popular spot for locals and visitors, offering a taste of Ireland in the heart of Syracuse.
Katie was our server, she was phenomenally very accommodating. the fish chips were cooked for perfection. the portion size is huge, they become so happy with this escape. the Irish meat was also excellent. the part was very large served with kartoffels, irish bread zucchini and summer squash that were delicious. we also enjoyed the potato skins kinsale calamari appetizers. we visited this restaurant at the SU department weekend. the service foods were excellent during one of the most busy weekends of the year.
What a joke. For the last few years we have enjoyed Kitty Hoynes for their Irish Dinners on St. Patricks day. This year, NO TAKE OUT OR RESERVATIONS AVAILABLE. CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC WITHOUT A RESERVATION?! We Will never step foot in there again. If you can't serve Rubens to the public out of your Irish food establishment to your loyal customers who have come year in and year out...on St.Patricks day... you don't deserve anyone's business. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE CATASTROPHE FOR A WELL ESTABLISHED IRISH PUB IN SYRACUSE.
Four of us good buddies did a winter Men's Retreat' in Syracuse's Armory Square to spend some time together and enjoy some bars and restaurants. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and did a bit of a pub crawl over a couple of days. Kitty Hoyne's is literally a crosswalk away from the hotel, so we stopped in here twice... once for evening drinks and once for lunch. We stopped in on a Wednesday night for drinks and the bar wasn't too full. We were able to get seats at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive and friendly. We had a good time but did find that the overall pub area is pretty loud. Also, the beer list was pretty good but not a lot of Irish' beers (just the usually Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks)... they had other beer on draft so there was something for everyone. We tried the famous' corned beef fritters.... perfectly cooked and filled with corned beef and Russian dressing. They were tasty but very rich, so one or two go a long way. We came back the next day for lunch and were seated in a quiet section of the dining area. Service was attentive and the food good. I had some sort of in-house smoked corned beef with cheese on a multi grain bread with fries... excellent. The pub is friendly, roomy, and has excellent service... highly recommended!
Been here twice for lunch now, we love it! Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, a bit on the louder side but very family friendly. AMAZING authentic Irish food, great service, clean, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. Great drinks too!!
Great Irish pub. Very busy with a great selection of beer and whisky. The food looked awesome and the staff was great.
