I’ve been here a few times always hoping that the next time would be better, but it never was. The staff are nice, but the food is average and fairly expensive. The place has potential though. View all feedback.
The restaurant, located on a quiet side street, is a charming place that has a slightly worn-out feel. The addition of red drapes to separate tables during the pandemic adds to the romantic atmosphere. My mother and I particularly enjoyed the mushroom risotto and tiramisu, both of which were fantastic vegan versions of the traditional recipes. While the other dishes we tried were just okay, I personally prefer the vegan pizza at another restaurant in Taipei. The portion sizes are a bit small, so ordering multiple courses may leave you feeling not quite satisfied. I look forward to trying the bunny chow next time, as I am not familiar with South African cuisine. Michel, the owner, comes highly recommended for special occasions.
The owner and cuisine at this restaurant are exceptional! During my stay in Taiwan, I had the chance to experience this wonderful place, which is like a hidden gem filled with delicious aromas.
This is a vegetarian restaurant with a cozy home-style atmosphere tucked away in an alley in Taipei City. The dishes are tasty, refreshing, and delicate, with reasonable prices that cater to vegetarian enthusiasts in the area. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere at Mianto is incredibly relaxing and pleasant. We decided to try both the set menu and an a la carte dish, which turned out to be a good choice as it gave us enough food. The set menu included a small creamy corn soup, 3 basil cream wonton cups, South African curry in a bread bowl (bunny chow), and a mylk cinnamon tart. The a la carte dish we chose was the mushroom risotto. While the basil cream cups seemed pre-made and lacked crispiness, the curry stood out with its delightful flavors. The risotto, however, was mainly just rice, with few visible mushrooms apart from a truffle paste on the side. The mylk tart was enjoyable. Although the food was decent overall, given the price point, I was hoping for a bit more value for money.
The restaurant has a nice setting with laid back jazz music. Prices are average for a vegan restaurant, but can be a bit overpriced. The portion sizes are alright. I tried the Fettuccini with cashew cream and porcini mushrooms, which was not bad. They offer various dishes, some of which are on the expensive side. Overall, I went once and that was enough for me.
