"My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around Victoria Quarter and decide to drop into The James Atherton Pub, a wonderful pub I always look forward to visiting, I enjoy the temporary renaming of the pub ,very appropriate . I love the look of this pub, the interior is smashing, wonderful pubby decor and furnishings including a solid wood serving bar that dominates the main room, cozy sums it up best ,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a fabulous pub. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, we track and traced and sanitised our hands and we were allocated a table were we ordered a cider each ,cider was served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My cider was exceptionally good ,a crisp,refreshing, effervescent cider that certainly cut through the thirst, on a really hot afternoon just the perfect brew. We really enjoyed our ciders in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The James Atherton Pub is easy to locate along Victoria Road, a street and area teeming with pubs and bars. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday, Open from 11.30am. Sunday, Open from Midday. A wonderful pub, if you're planning a trip to New Brighton highly recommended."
