Update! It was very excited when we saw that this place opened as it was close to my abyss, but was disappointed when we ate here. It was easy. Still edible, but simply simple. Probably try it again. She tried again last weekend and the food was better. So I gave them a better rating
On Friday for lunch. Fish special was very good. Light bread and the right amount of salt on the catfish fillets. Very delicious. Pages were good, especially the carrots they had on that day. Also the butter finger cake. The service was excellent. I appreciate that they wipe off the utensils after they get out of the dishwasher. Bright and shiny. This is a good place for a good meal.
Solid Burger. Big Mac n Cheese! Worth a stop. I want to have breakfast next time.
Great Dinner Spot. Our group of five went for an early weeknight dinner and left full and very impressed. All adults enjoyed their dinner and the staff was very sweet to our somewhat frigidity toddler. Favorites from the meal were the deliciously sweet cornbread muffins, cinnamon sweet potato casserole, almost-as-good-as Dad's green beans, and perfectly breaded chicken fingers. The carrot souffle was enough to hook one of the adults for good. We will -definitely- be back and can't wait to try breakfast!
If you go under the I-10 overpass on Mahan Drive and are hungry your dining options for the next eighteen miles are limited. Thankfully Ruby’s Diner opened in January and is doing its best to keep famished interstate and U.S. 90 travelers well fed.
