Traveling in from out of state, we told our friends we would love some Cuban food. They suggested here. As everyone has stated…Cuban sandwiches are terrific. Split the Cuban and the 7th Ave salad spinach, bacon, avacado, tomato… with my husband both were delicious. The restaurant is loud great music playing servers friendly and very efficient. What Anisa M doesn't like about La Segunda Central Bakery:
I ordered from La Segunda through UberEats on Sunday, 6/11. I had been hyping up the Cuban sandwiches to my brother who was visiting from Colorado (they don't have Cuban sandwiches there), but I was very disappointed. The Cubans and Pork sandwiches were not just toasted, they were burnt! It was so disappointing especially considering I spent over $60. However, the Cafe con Leche and Guava and Cheese were delicious. I... View all feedback.
Being from Tampa, born in Ybor City, I’ve been eating Cuban sandwiches for almost 60 years. I would have to say the one from La Segunda, for the money, is just OK. $12 Cuban sandwiches and $6 dollar Cuban coffee is a little exorbitant; Do yourself a favor and go to either West Tampa Sandwich Shop, La Teresita, Arco Iris, or Pipo’s. You’ll save half the money and be able to order some black beans and rice with your sandwich too.
Customers return for delicious food, but no one returns after experiencing poor service. The cashier was extremely rude and needs to be trained in providing pleasant and courteous service to patrons. I do not recommend this restaurant solely based on the unacceptable level of service.
The food was supposed to be ready at 10:43am, but when we arrived at 10:56am, it was not ready. My wife explained that it was an online order, but the lady said it was not ready. My wife waited until 11:10am, when the lady finally said the food was ready and had been sitting there getting cold for 20 minutes. It was disappointing to see a well-known restaurant like La Segunda have such logistical issues. Paying $27.93 for cold sandwiches was unacceptable. This experience occurred at the Ybor location.
The Cuban bread and cafe con leche were on point! My son loved the steak and cheese sandwich. I’m from Miami and this totally competes with the Latin bakeries/cafes back home!
Excellent sandwiches, definitely ask for the special sauce! Also the cold brew was the perfect pick me up I needed to nail our client meeting that day! I was excited to see they have multiple locations, another is located just up the street from our apartment in downtown St. Pete, we'll definitely be back.
