"Excellent eating on the trent mersey channel. we were on a canal trip and stopped right in front of the plum pudding where we could use their private berths. Welcome was very friendly, restaurant was warm (very important if they have spent the day in the cold on a barge), fine series of ales including handpull and a large selection on the menu plus a large board of specials. eating was super mouthwater and tasty, we had a selection of home made dishes that wait until 8 meals fresh to order obviously a little time. try the 'healthy' garlic bread while they wait. service was very good and personal. children loved this approach and loved even more the desserts .read more"

"We went as a party of six, greeted by the very friendly staff as we entered and shown to our table. The restaurant is not large but makes it very cosy that give a nice feel to it. Good choice of dishes on the menu to choose from, so advice give by the waiter was appreciated. We all thought that the food was excellent, so there w as not very much left on our plates.
