We were disappointed with our visit to the newly refurbished White Bear. Some of the charm of the pub has been removed by the refurbishment but that could have been forgiven if it hadn't have been for the slow service, lack of meat in the beef and cheese pies and the fact that a £35 bottle of wine was already open when it arrived at the table.
