Server was very attentive. Service was fast. Tacos were great and margaritas very good. We will be going again. We ate on their taco Wednesday, tacos for $1.50 each. They were very fresh and generous for the price. Give them a try. View all feedback.
What Harold Weber doesn't like about Amor A La Mexicana:
I was hoping it was authentic at the look of the inside. Before seating. I asked a worker if they made fresh tortillas and she said yes! Unfortunately they were not. Tortilla chips were heated up. The sauce was tomatoe paste and water, as if taken out of a can. My Fiancé ordered cheese dip and it was not the right texture very watery. The waiter was a nice young man who very attentive and did a great job as our serve... View all feedback.
The restaurant has a great children's area! My kids had a blast playing Pac man, doing art and crafts, playing games, and watching the Disney channel. It is the most relaxing, low-pressure, and affordable place to eat in the Sponge Docks. The meals also come in large portions.
I went to the restaurant on Saturday at 2:45 pm and it was not very crowded. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The server suggested we sit at the bar but I declined as we planned to order entrees. He then showed us to a table that still had a used napkin on it, I mentioned that the table needed to be cleaned properly before we could sit there. He assured me it was safe but then did not come back. After waiting for a while, a female server noticed us and asked if we had been given menus, to which I replied no. She then took our order when she was ready. Our margaritas arrived but there was no water, napkins, utensils, or chips and salsa. When I inquired about the chips, it took a long time for them to be brought to the table. I thought our food would come first but it arrived cold, so the server had to go back and get fresh dishes. We waited a long time for our drinks and finally received water. Even though we had a voucher for free margaritas, we were still charged for them. After speaking with her manager, the server refunded us $6. This was my second and final visit to the restaurant. My first experience with the burrito was good despite slow service, but this time it was a disappointment. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, but the service was terrible and left us feeling very unsatisfied.
My family and I went out to eat at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with the waiter. Half of our drinks were forgotten and we had to ask multiple times to get them. It took a long time for us to place our order and our food came out separately. By the time my brother finished eating, my plate finally arrived. To make things worse, we decided not to leave a tip for the poor service, but the waiter added a $10 tip to all of our receipts without our consent. When I called to address the issue, the waiter claimed she thought we had left a tip and the manager was conveniently unavailable. This seems like a scam and fraud to me. I am deeply disappointed with this experience and warn others to be cautious of waiters stealing tips. I expect honesty and loyalty from service staff when dining out. We were courteous in handling the situation, but it's unacceptable. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I visited this restaurant and ordered takeout. I was surprised by the prices on the menu, so my wife and I decided to share a chicken burrito. The person at the bar said it was large enough to split, but we had to pay $15 because they charge extra for credit card transactions. We waited 10 minutes for the burrito, and before leaving, we asked for a red salsa to go with the green salsa they gave us. We were told we could only have one salsa and had to return the one they provided (which seemed like a health violation). We found the server's attitude annoying, but decided to give the burrito a fair chance at home. Unfortunately, it was not big enough to share and the burrito was mediocre. Both my wife and I got sick and vomited all night, so I will not be returning to this place due to the high prices, bad service, and food that causes illness. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also unappealing.
I absolutely loved this place! On a scorching hot day, we stumbled upon it after seeing the sign outside. We ordered two margaritas - one mango and one strawberry - which were the perfect way to cool down. They were cold, sweet, and just strong enough for us. As for the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the tacos al pastor. They were exactly what I was looking for - crispy bites of spicy pork, topped with onions and cilantro in a moist tortilla. They were absolutely perfect. My partner ordered 2 steak gorditas, which were delicious little puffs filled with meat, beans, and cheesy goodness. We were very pleased with our experience. It was a bit odd to find ourselves in a predominantly Greek area and ending up at a Mexican restaurant, but we're so grateful that we did.
