"Lovely owner and fantastic food. Really obviously cared about making good quality food to satisfy our taste buds. We both had a lamb shish kebab which was delicious and definitely not stingey with the meat either! Would 100% recommend if you're in the area and fancy a kebab. Only place to go. "I have been several times to this restaurant and it is fantastic to find an authentic italian restaurant. I have been on my own, with my partner, family and with work colleagues for a business lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful, you feel you could actually be in a restaurant in italy itself. The staff are so friendly and genuinely make you feel welcome. The food is delicious, I came away feeling that I had just eaten a meal that you would have in an italian home, with recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation."

"We stayed here for one night while making a brief visit to family in Taunton. We arrived relatively late and had a couple of drinks at the bar, but we didn't dine at the pub, so this is a review of the Greyhound solely as a B&B. In short, lovely cosy-yet-spacious room, delightful setting, good breakfast, but let down by a lumpy and unsupportive mattress which meant we both slept badly. We did mention the problem when we checked out. Our comments were acknowledged, but nothing was offered by way of an apology or a good-will gesture such as waiving our bar bill. Such a shame, everything else was great, and I don't lightly leave negative reviews for small independent businesses, but a bad night's sleep due to a poor quality bed is not something that can be easily overlooked, particularly when paying a premium compared to Premiere Inn etc."

"We must have hit an off night at the Monkton Inn. They do advertise a lot of gluten free food which is great worth a mark. However my wife ordered a chicken burger, which was basically a dry chicken breast in a Warburton's gluten free bun with 12 chips. Whilst price rises are hitting everyone, this was terrible value for £12 not great to eat either."
