"The place is nicely decorated, specially outside, very nice. Went in and had to wait a few minutes for waiter to show up. Ordered a couple of beers. they served the beers and went away. 15 minutes later had to get up to try and find someone and finally there was the waiter, asked him if they also sell food, he said yeah and gave us a menu. He left again, waited about 15 minutes and since he didn't come back, I had to get up and look for him. Found him, he came to the table, took our food order, it took about 20 minutes to get the french fries with meat and a mushroom dish. The dishes were ok but not impressive in any way. Again the guy disappeared. Had to get up looking for him and this time, he was talking with two girls and completely ignoring he had customers. I gave it a 2 only because the place looks so nice. For the service a 1 and the food a 2.....not recommended."

"A friend tipped us off to Amores and we're glad he did. It's a bit of a trick to find, on a sidestreet with an unimposing narrow frontage. You enter through the kitchen; the dining room is simple and rustic. We were there at a slow time - 3:00pm on a Sunday - so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.The menu changes based on what fresh local ingredients are available, and meals are 2, 3, or 5 courses. Three of us had 2-course meals and we shared the dessert of the single 3-course meal. The solid soup ingredients (1 cream of mushroom, 2 octopus) were presented in large plain bowls without liquid; the server poured the liquid from individual ewers into the bowls. We all agreed that it was wonderful. Our fourth person had a very large fresh mixed-green salad, also good.For entrees, three of us had pork ribs from a suckling pig accompanied by pureed vegetables and demi-glace; the fourth had a small steak. Again, wonderful presentation and excellent food. The dessert was a cake with both chocolate and orange mousse accompanied by black cherry/raspberry sorbet.Again, be aware that the menu changes and these items may not be available.None of us had drinks, and it was only $18/person for a meal that in the US would have cost probably $50.None of us are either foodies or fast-food junkies, but we do appreciate a good meal at a good price, and Amores greatly exceeded our expectations."
