great service. friendly and stream tea is the best to stop. always one has to stop when in the opposite they think they are closed on Mondays and Fridays!

my sister and I were here in 2014! after all this time it is one of our most unforgettable stations on our 3 weeks tour, we still talk about it. You can't leave...

"You must go. Never been before? There's lots of easy access to beautiful views you don't even have to leave your car before you're greeted by wild ponies. Been a few times but unsure? There's a wide range of walks and activities with forests, rivers, lakes, tors, valleys, pubs, clapper bridges. In the summer you can have a swim in the wild rivers, with the popular spots being close to the car and the less so spots being a short walk. You can scramble and climb on the famous Dartmoor rocks, camp under the stars (make sure to check the laws and areas you can camp on first! , and there's so many free places to park that you only have to walk a bit more from. The beauty alone is worth going. Seriously, you have so many possibilities with such a grand empty space, there's no reason not to."

"So sweet place with a very cozy and earthy atmosphere. coffee cake really came out fast and waitress was very friendly. chai cake was unusual (a lot less sweet than they expect, in any case tasted healthy, but tasty, and my decaf latte was excellent not too hot, so it 't bitter, beautiful and strong, good taste and not too thick/thin texture wise. not too much sitting opportunity, but it would be worth waiting for a table to be free!"

"One word FABULOUS, celebrated a very special birthday the staff couldn't be more attentive! We had the 10 course tasting menu too, which was amazing very filling, lovely experience! "Beautiful cosy cafe. Came in for lunch after a blustery rainy walk up to bonehill rocks and back. Great vegan options (had sweetcorn fritters) and we shared a lovely cardamom bun. The food and all the service were super quick and efficient. Thanks for a lovely time!"

"Very busy on arrival. We placed our order after a few minutes and then waited for over an hour for our starters to arrive which were very nice. I had to enquire at the bar where our food was as the table next to us who arrived after us ordered and finished their food prior to ours staters. After 1 hour 25mins our mains arrived. My leg of lamb was in fact roast lamb but along with my wife’s turkey was very tasty. It was our wedding anniversary which was spoiled by such an unacceptable wait. The landlady did take 20% off but still not good. We are local and will not be eating there again. What a shame as the food was good."
