Ate here last night friendly service , very accommodating when booking as we changed times a few times due to traffic delays. Food selection was good variety and tasty. Thank you View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Cross Inn:
Frequent patrons will notice that the prices have gone up, making it no longer a good deal. It's disappointing that the restaurant is trying to make up for lost income by charging loyal customers more. View all feedback.
We always go here after the tendring hundred show, very pleased, several tables reserved but we got there early, there was room and it got busier as time went on
Have been here a few times now. Last time had a prawn cocktail. Would have been nice if it had been served with the correct lettuce an iceberg and not the limp leaves they served my prawn cocktail with. Shame little things like this let down an otherwise nice starter. So a crisp iceberg please. Also can you get the very nice young lady with hair down to her waist to tie it back working around food like she does. Surely with health and safety courses now the manager here should know better and tell her about it. I noticed as she leant across the table to put a customers meal down her hair was swinging around, Sorry it is just not hygienic .Also could do with a proper coffee maker like the coffee shops have. The coffee from the machine you have was awful.
Excellent 'pub ' grub with a few specials thrown in at reasonable prices makes this well worth a visit. The tasty food was backed up by a friendly and professional service. There is also a good choice of drinks (especially beer) however it should be noted than you need to take a driver as it 's on a main road well away from housing!
The Cross maintains a very strong , traditional pub lunch menu, the pie of the day has been good every time we have visited and was again today.
Been here a couple of times now as we only live a few minutes away. Nice old fashioned pub restaurant with a warm welcome when entering. Good selection of beer and wine at good value. Food is good home cooked type food with decent size portions. Nice specials usually on offer. With starters between £3-£5, and mains between £9-£15. It really is great value
