"Waiter knowledgeable about the menu...usually a good sign. My chilled avocado soup was over seasoned and sour ...to the point of being bitter. The boeuf Bourguignonne was truly a disgrace. The beef was almost inedible as it was rock hard and the sauce did not in anyway resemble the classic Burgundy dish. A few mushrooms and scraps, hardly any, of bacon. The taste was not good and the texture was bad. The whole experiece cost two people, two soups, two main courses and a bottle of local mineral water over $1,000 pesos. I suspect this place has a following as it advertises itself as a French/Catalan restaurant and in some parts of Mexico the word French in the context of food seems to be a guarantee of quality for some people regardless of what they are given to eat. This really was one of the worst meals I have had in years."
