"Value the hype and live up to his reputation. Excellent food, generous portions, fair prices and incredibly friendly staff. Recommend the chicken sandwich. There is a massive gift shop next door, called Terlingua Trading Company. Definitely plan to check it as well."

"A large group of the big bend church that were eaten in the restaurant. they are regular and have told us a lot about the region while we enjoyed a cheap tex mex meal. that is a real West Texas restaurant. if they are willing to stay in dallas. you are now in terlingua."

"After a two week stay in Terlingua and Big Bend, little Rio Bravo ended up being our favourite place to relax after a long day on the trails. Rio Bravo is a small hole-in-the-wall with cracked stucco and uneven floor tile typical of this part of Texas. The sign is unlit, so easy to miss, the kitchen is tiny with, somehow, four people toiling away in it during the busy times. The refrigirators and the produce storage area require a walk for one of the four through the dining room. This means that you can see the two avocados that will become your guacamole in a few minutes. No pre-prepped guac here. So, don't come here for the ambiance, it's as basic as it gets. Come for the warm smiles of the staff and the delicious tex-mex straight from the grill. The refried beans are smooth and buttery. The spanish rice is rich and savoury. The steak in the fajitas is flavorful and tender. The tortillas are fresh and hot. Every single dish we got, from simple beef tacos to chile rellenos, from steak picadillo to the mexican platter, were fresh, delicious, and cooked with genuine warmth toward every visitor. Bring your own drink and come enjoy the authentic simplicity of little Rio Bravo."
