"Value the hype and live up to his reputation. Excellent food, generous portions, fair prices and incredibly friendly staff. Recommend the chicken sandwich. There is a massive gift shop next door, called Terlingua Trading Company. Definitely plan to check it as well."

"Took over 1.5 hours for all four of us to correctly receive our meals. We ordered two chicken and two beef enchilada plates, and they just kept bringing the wrong food, and the food ended up not being worth the wait. The waitress wanted to take two meals off the bill. The manager ended up taking our payment and only took off 10%. At that point, we just wanted to get out of there. We had heard good things about the restaurant and everyone has a bad day so I'm sure we will try it again on our next trip."

"Since I wrote my first review of the Chili Pepper Café and little has changed. Oh Lupé 's enclosed the porch for more dining area but in general, the food 's still great and the service is still okay. They 've expanded their menu with the addition of 'al pastor ' and a few other goodies and it 's still the only place I stop for a meal when I 'm in town I live on Terlingua Ranch ."

"That was a pretty little place in Terlingua. Chips and salsa were great and the chickens were delicious and had a small kick. Crispy taco was good too. Enchilada had a strange taste, but other than that, food was great."
