What nattyberrill likes about Dukes Head:

The staff were a bit off that there was no reservation made, despite many tables being available. Was not made to feel welcome initially, was made to feel that I do not belong in this establishment. Although after the staff warmed up. Food was good but not spectacular and a bit over priced. But certainly not bad. A long black hair was found in my dish. I do not have black hair. read moreThe Duke of the Test offers a mixed experience for visitors. While some find the interior pretty and appreciate the efforts of the new landlord, others have had disappointing meals, found plastic in their food, or encountered closures during supposed opening hours. Sunday lunches seem to be a hit for some, while others have enjoyed the overall improved atmosphere of the pub. Prices vary, but the location along the river Test is lovely. Those looking for a traditional pub experience may find charm in the old-fashioned interior and friendly staff. Gluten-free options are available.
