This is one of my favourite places in Geneva. It offers a decent variety of dishes if you're not a fan of cheese fondue. They offer several types of fondue. Try the moitié moitié or the fondue au bolet (mushrooms). Also their viande de grison is one of my favourite. In summer their terrace has a very pleasant seating. Their staff are welcoming and friendly. This is a casual place that offers great Swiss food. It is a... View all feedback.
What Jan Cartwright doesn't like about Château D'If:
I apologise in advance because there seems to be an amazing amount of excellent reviews, but I honestly do not share the opinion. Far from being the best in Geneva (not really in Geneva at that). Had the moitié-moitié and the champagne truffles fondue....None of them were very good. The truffles fondue wasn't bad, but had the same issue as to the traditional: taste of flour used to thicken the liquid. The same taste... View all feedback.
An address discovered somewhat by chance. A cuisine with high quality products, tasty dishes, exceptional and particularly warm service. We will come back
An old waitress who responds unfriendly and aggressively to customers. We were ignored by the staff, who instead of apologizing for the more than detestable service, responded to us with an extraordinary lack of respect. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was truly embarrassing and deplorable. A huge disappointment for a fondue that was probably pre-made and without any flavor, what a shame. There are so many better fondues in Geneva, what a bad experience, morel fondue 42 francs and there are 2 dried morels in it. Disgusting.
Best fondue in Geneva Restaurant that lives up to its reputation with a great atmosphere and top-notch, attentive service Warm !!! All is well !!!!!
I went there for a cheese fondue meal with a group of friends. The decor is cosy with a Swiss ethnic touch. Very friendly and efficient service. Now to the fondue (I am a cheese fondue aficionado): we had fondue moitié-moitié and it was creamy...but very very thick. The taste was great, but I 've never had such a thick cheese fondue. I personally prefer it a bit more creamy and less consistent. It 's a matter of personal taste I guess.
We arrived during posted hours of the food truck to eat a buger Sunday afternoon. After waiting 10 minutes and getting the wrong information from another employee, the chef running the food truck arrived. He answered the phone before talking to us, then looked at...us like we had a problem, told us he was closed (and of course his colleague didn't know that) and then looked past us. Unacceptable service.
